The Nasdaq Composite opened lower 1.26% or 60.83 points to 4,756.77 at 12.10 p.m. on Monday. The S&P 500 index dropped 0.95% or 19.78 to 2,061.65 at midday while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.85% or 152.10 to 17,739.06.
Shares of Alphabet Inc (GOOG) stepped down 0.60% or $4.18 to $694.03 as forward-looking investors have welcomed its wearable products for some time now. Apple Inc (AAPL) gained 0.97% or 91 cents to $94.55 in early afternoon despite media buzz that high-profile investor Carl Icahn exited Apple to invest in Xerox Corp (XRX).
