Lower Spending

Sonic Corp (SONC) projected its fourth-quarter 2016 earnings below analyst forecasts because of slower customer spending at its restaurants. The stock has been sinking since September 24.

American Apparel Inc is expected to close out this calendar year with less than $350 million in revenue. The bulk of knit fabric operations may relocate from California to North Carolina, South Carolina or Tennessee – where the minimum hourly wage is $7.25. California’s minimum hourly wage is projected to rise to $15 by 2020.

Microsoft Corp (MSFT) opened up 0.38% or 22 cents to $57.98 after the technology company declared 8.3% increase in quarterly dividend to 39 cents a share, payable on December 8, 2016.

Sony Corp (SNE) is teaming up with China’s Dalian Wanda Group Co Ltd, the ambitious owner of the world’s largest group of film theaters, in relation to film financing and marketing.

International expansion continues to make sense at global corporations by means of diversifying from domestic longer-term volatility or managing either too pricy or downwardly equity and other assets spreads. General Electric International Inc (GE) for instance is going to invest approximately $10 billion in Argentina over the next decade.

Among stocks to watch, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co (GT) gained 0.50% to $32.42 after the vehicle tires global manufacturer declared a 43% increase of its quarterly dividend to 10 cents a share, to be paid on December 1. Wireless carrier China Mobile Ltd (CHL) raised its semi-annual dividend 24% to 96 cents a share, to be paid on October 11.
